MACBLUE is supporting Fiji, Papua New-Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu to meet their priorities in biodiversity conservation and climate protection. The protection and sustainable management of seagrass meadows and mangrove forests, quantified and measured sequestration of carbon dioxide and mitigation of greenhouse gases as well as the increase in adaptative capacity towards the impacts of climate change contribute to meeting international targets of the UNCBD, the UNFCCC, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals.
